Belarusian agriculture exports to Russia up almost 23% this year, says minister

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said in early November that Minsk could receive $8 bln from food sales alone by the end of the year

MINSK, November 14. /TASS/. Exports of Belarusian agriculture products to Russia have increased by almost 23% this year, reaching $4.2 bln in money terms, Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus Igor Brylo told a press conference in Minsk on Monday.

"An increase in exports to China totaled almost 160%, bringing [exports in money terms - TASS] to $500 mln. [Exports] to the Russian Federation rose by almost 23% to $4.2 bln. [Exports] to non-CIS states virtually grew by more than 20%, reaching $1.2 bln by the end of nine months with the growth rate of 157%," the minister said.

Earlier on Monday Brylo said that the volume of exports of food products by Belarus might reach $8.2 bln by the end of 2022. In 2021, exports of Belarusian agriculture products totaled $6.7 bln, an increase of 17.3% compared with 2020.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said in early November that Minsk could receive $8 bln from food sales alone by the end of the year.
