Russia emphasizes it's bolstering food supplies to global markets, says Kremlin

Dmitry Peskov noted that only a minor share of supplies is being talked about

MOSCOW, November 14. /TASS/. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has called a statement made by the UK’s Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Moscow allegedly hindering food supplies to global markets, and weaponizing food, entirely wrong.

In his article for The Telegraph Sunak said that Russia was trying "to asphyxiate the global economy," using food as a weapon, and that food prices are rising because of restrictions on grain exports from Ukrainian ports.

"This is entirely wrong, because Russia is not hindering food supplies to global markets," Peskov told reporters on Monday, adding that on the contrary, Moscow is supporting such shipments.

That said, the Kremlin spokesman noted that only a minor share of supplies is being talked about. "While a great bulk of deliveries from the total, global volume has nothing to do either with Russia, or with Ukraine," he stated.
