Beeline mobile operator hopes to maintain its strategy after VimpelCom’s sale by Veon

Earlier, Veon, a Dutch-domiciled multinational telecommunication services company, announced the launch of a competitive sales process for VimpelCom

MOSCOW, November 2. /TASS/. VimpelCom hopes to maintain its strategy after the company is sold by Veon to new owners, a spokesperson with the company told TASS on Wednesday.

VimpelCom, which is part of the Veon group of companies, provides mobile operator services under the Beeline brand in Russia.

Earlier, Veon, a Dutch-domiciled multinational telecommunication services company, announced the launch of a competitive sales process for VimpelCom.

"We emphasize that regardless of the final corporate structure, Beeline's strategy remains unchanged, and our customers and continuous quality service will always remain at the center of the company's business," the press service said.

The company's press service attributed the sale to the fact that the company's shareholder is "a foreign holding from an unfriendly jurisdiction."

"And, as a result, many different regulatory restrictions were imposed on the company. Today, we are in a less favorable position than other players on the telecom market," the press service of VimpelCom noted.

Veon is a global digital operator that provides converged connectivity and online services to over 200 million customers. VimpelCom is 99.9% owned by Veon. Apart from Russia, Veon owns assets in Pakistan and several other countries.
