WARSAW, October 31. /TASS/. Inflation in Poland continues growing, having hit a 25-year high of 17.9% in October, according to figures released by the republic’s statistics service on Monday.
"Consumer prices according to the flash estimate in October 2022 r., compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, increased by 17.9%," the service said. This is the highest inflation level reported by the country since the middle of 1990s. Last month’s inflation was 17.2%.
"As related to the previous month consumer prices increased by 1.8%," the service added.
Prices for food and beverages in Poland rose by 21.9% in annual terms, while prices for energy and fuel increased by 41.7% and 19.5%, respectively.
