Russia cannot afford to leave Belarus in the lurch — Kremlin spokesman

Dmitry Peskov noted that "the neighbors’ actions are very, very unpredictable and unfriendly"

MOSCOW, April 6. /TASS/. Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said that Russia in the current adverse conditions cannot afford to leave Belarus in the lurch.

Belarus, just like us, is surrounded by very hostile countries. Since we are a union state, naturally, Russia cannot afford to leave Belarus in the lurch," he said.

Peskov noted that "the neighbors’ actions are very, very unpredictable and unfriendly."

"For this reason, precautions are of the essence," he concluded.
