Russian combat aircraft wipe out US-made counter-battery radar in Ukraine — top brass

MOSCOW, June 6. /TASS/. Russian combat aircraft destroyed a Ukrainian army’s US-made counter-battery radar, three missile/artillery arms depots and a fuel depot, eliminating over 150 militants, Defense Ministry Spokesman Major-General Igor Konashenkov said on Monday.

"Operational-tactical and army aviation aircraft wiped out 73 areas of amassed Ukrainian manpower and military equipment. The air strikes eliminated two command posts, over 150 nationalists, three missile/artillery arms depots and a fuel depot near Kodem in the Donetsk People’s Republic, a US-made AN/TPQ-50 counter-fire radar in the area of Seversk in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.

The air strikes also obliterated eight Ukrainian tanks and armored vehicles, a Grad multiple rocket launcher, a field artillery battery and ten special motor vehicles, the general said.

Russian missile and artillery troops struck 431 areas of amassed Ukrainian manpower and military hardware in the past 24 hours in their special operation in Ukraine, Konashenkov said.

"The missile and artillery troops destroyed 431 areas of the amassment of Ukrainian manpower and equipment, seven command posts and 34 firing positions of artillery and mortar units," the spokesman said.

The artillery strikes eliminated over 300 Ukrainian nationalists, 10 tanks, two Grad multiple rocket launchers, 17 special motor vehicles, 17 field artillery guns and mortars and also three missile/artillery arms depots near Gorlovka, the general specified.

The Russian Aerospace Forces delivered strikes by precision missiles to eliminate the production facilities of a forging-mechanical plant for the repairs of Ukrainian combat hardware, Konashenkov said.

"The Russian Aerospace Forces delivered strikes by long-range air-launched precision missiles against the outskirts of the community of Lozovaya in the Kharkov Region to obliterate the production facilities of the forging-mechanical plant where the Ukrainian armor was repaired and recovered," the spokesman said.

The missile strikes also destroyed four Ukrainian command posts and 15 areas of amassed enemy manpower and equipment, the general added.

Russian air defense forces shot down a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter aircraft near the town of Slavyansk in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Konashenkov said.

"Russian air defense capabilities shot down a MiG-29 plane of the Ukrainian Air Force near the community of Slavyansk in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.

The Russian air defense forces also eliminated 13 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles near the communities of Yasinovataya and Stavki in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Volcheyarovka and Borovenki in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Balakleya, Glubokoye, Verbovka, Liptsy and Mikhailovka in the Kharkov Region and Tokmak in the Zaporozhye Region, the general added.

Russian troops have eliminated 190 Ukrainian combat aircraft, 1,127 unmanned aerial vehicles, 3,424 tanks and other armored vehicles and 473 multiple rocket launchers since the start of their special military operation in Ukraine, Konashenkov said.

"In all, the following targets have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation: 190 aircraft, 129 helicopters, 1,127 unmanned aerial vehicles, 330 surface-to-air missile systems, 3,424 tanks and other combat armored vehicles, 473 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,795 field artillery guns and mortars and 3,446 special military motor vehicles," the spokesman said.
