Republika Srpska against BiH integration into NATO — official

Earlier, in an interview with TASS, Milorad Dodic asserted that Bosnia and Herzegovina has no chance of joining NATO because Republika Srpska would never let this happen

BELGRADE, November 24. /TASS/. Republika Srpska (one of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH) entities) will not allow the integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Republika Srpska’s President Milorad Dodik said at a press conference in Belgrade.

"Republika Srpska supports the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina but is not ready for any agreements on a path to NATO. There is no dispute that we cooperate with NATO but no decisions will be made on the integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina into NATO," he stressed.

Earlier, in an interview with TASS, Dodic asserted that Bosnia and Herzegovina has no chance of joining NATO because Republika Srpska would never let this happen. Asked what are the prospects of BiH joining NATO, Dodik said: "None. Republika Srpska won’t allow it." "They bombed us twice, dropped depleted uranium on our heads, trying to wipe out our civilization as part of some kind of experiment. As soon as you mention NATO, for me, it’s a synonym of depleted uranium and nothing else," the politician emphasized.

Following the October 2 presidential election in Republika Srpska, Dodik told TASS that he won despite Western interference. He also stressed that Republika Srpska will continue to cooperate with the Russian Federation and the West should respect this. This stance along with the blocking of BiH’s accession to NATO is a source of major irritation for the West. Earlier, the US and the UK introduced sanctions against Dodik.
