Belarusian president’s approach to Karabakh conflict simple and fair, diplomat says

"Belarus has consistently called for a peaceful solution to the Karabakh conflict, making considerable efforts in this regard on all available platforms, including multilateral and bilateral ones," Belarusian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Anatoly Glaz emphasized

MINSK, November 2. /TASS/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko’s approach to the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict is based on the actual situation, simple and fair like an ally’s approach should be, Belarusian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Anatoly Glaz told TASS on Wednesday.

"Belarus has confirmed its loyalty to its allied obligations not by words but by deeds throughout its history," Glaz pointed out, commenting on Armenian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Vahan Hunanyan's remark that the Belarusian president’s stance on the normalization of relations between Yerevan and Baku, as well as on the situation on the border, was not an allied one.

"I would like to point out that Belarus has consistently called for a peaceful solution to the Karabakh conflict, making considerable efforts in this regard on all available platforms, including multilateral and bilateral ones," the Belarusian diplomat added. According to him, "the former and current leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia are grateful to the Belarusian head of state for his earnest desire for peace and prosperity for all nations of the South Caucasus and his personal contribution to efforts to improve relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia."

"We recommend our friends and partners carefully read and reread the Belarusian head of state’s numerous statements on this difficult but quite resolvable issue," Glaz concluded.
