Norway sends 100 Mistral air defense missiles to Ukraine — agency

HELSINKI, April 20. /TASS/. Norway has sent 100 Mistral air defense missiles to Ukraine in response to Kiev’s request for weapons, Reuters reported on Wednesday, citing the Norwegian Defense Ministry.

Earlier, Norway particularly provided Ukraine with 2,000 anti-tank grenade launchers.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky earlier asked Oslo to send weapons to his country, including Harpoon anti-ship missiles and NASAMS mobile missile systems. In addition, he said that Ukraine also needed anti-armor weapons and artillery systems.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation based on a request from the heads of the Donbass republics. The Russian leader stressed that Moscow had no plans to occupy Ukrainian territories and the goal was to demilitarize and denazify the country.
