Chechen fighters launch assault on Mariupol plant — Chechnya’s head

Ramzan Kadyrov did not name the plant in question

GROZNY, April 2. /TASS/. Soldiers from Russia’s Chechen Republic have launched an attack on a plant in Mariupol, Chechnya’s head Ramzan Kadyrov wrote in his Telegram channel on Saturday.

"The fighters of the legendary regiment named after Hero of Russia Akhmad-Khadzhi Kadyrov have begun storming a plant in Mariupol," he wrote. "I have no doubts that the assigned task will be accomplished. Yes, it is channeling, but doable. The regiment has had an experience of hundreds of successful special operations in the elimination of international terrorists in the Chechen Republic."

Kadyrov did not name the plant in question.

On Thursday, Kadyrov released video footage in which he was urging the Ukrainian nationalists entrenched at the Azovstal plant to surrender. He promised that the Ukrainian servicemen "will not be touched" if they voluntarily lay down the weapons, adding that then they might "fall under amnesty.".
