MOSCOW, February 15. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Masoud Barzani, the Chancellor of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region Security Council and former President of Iraqi Kurdistan, have discussed the situation in Syria and the fight against international terrorism, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, adding that the meeting had taken place on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
"The parties exchanged views on pressing regional issues, focusing on the situations in Iraq and Syria, particularly in light of cooperation in the fight against international terrorism," the statement reads.
Lavrov and Barzani also discussed ways to boost economic cooperation, paying special attention to the energy sector.
