Up to 5,000 refugees arrive in Russia from Donbas daily — migration service

As of January 27, 1.103 million people arrived, Russia’s Federal Migration Service deputy head says

MOSCOW, January 28. /TASS/. Russia’s Federal Migration Service (FMS) registers continuing flow of refugees from Luhansk and Donetsk regions, FMS deputy head Nikolay Smorodin said on Thursday.

"The number of people arriving in Russia is always growing," Smorodin said adding that up to 5,000 people enter the Russian territory every day.

"Growth continues practically all the time, we have not registered any decline yet. Two-three-five thousand [people] arrive daily. The process of moving to the Russian territory continues," he noted.

The FMS deputy head added that the migration service registers instances of crossing the border from Ukraine to Russia and vice versa every day. "As of January 27, 1.103 million people arrived," Smorodin concluded.
