MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. The fortunes of Russia's richest businessmen have increased by $13.17 billion since the beginning of the year, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index the agency published on Monday. The index is calculated, among other things, by the value of their company's shares.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, since the beginning of the year, the founder of Lukoil Vagit Alekperov has earned $3.17 billion bringing his fortune to $18.5 billion. Head of Novatek Leonid Mikhelson has made $1.65 billion and his fortune stands at $26.3 billion.
The cash value of assets of both Russians is based on an analysis of dividends, insider trading, taxes and market conditions.
Since the beginning of the year, Chairman of the board of directors of NLMK, Vladimir Lisin, has earned $1.17 billion and now has a net worth of $21 billion.
The fortune of Andrey Melnichenko, the former beneficiary of EuroChem, decreased by $571 million, to $12.6 billion. He earned more than $800 million, based, in particular, on available information about dividends from SUEK and EuroChem, the sale and purchase of shares in these enterprises. As documents from the analytics firm and Bloomberg data show, Melnichenko also received more than $500 million from dividends and the sale of shares in public companies through December 2017. The value of the billionaire's cash investments and personal assets is partly based on local media reports and figures provided by his press representatives.
Since March 2012, the news agency has been publishing the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, which includes information about the state of the 500 richest people in the world.
