MOSCOW, November 29. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday met with Supreme Court Chairman Vyacheslav Lebedev and highly praised the work of the Russian judicial system, expressing hope that it will continue to develop.
"The judicial system has been developing fairly energetically over the past years and decades and demonstrates a very high responsiveness to the demands that these times impose on the judicial system," the president said.
He highlighted the huge role played by the judiciary and expressed hope that the system led by the Supreme and Constitutional courts will develop further and meet the demands to defend the interests of the state and its citizens, their rights, freedoms in all areas of their lives, including politics, economy and criminal justice.
"The judge is at the top of the pyramid. The quality of the entire law enforcement system ultimately depends on the results of work by judges. Everything comes down to that point. The court makes the final decision in any case in any type of affairs," Putin said.
