Woodrow Wilson Center, Open Press declared undesirable in Russia

The decision was dispatched to the Ministry of Justice

MOSCOW, November 14. /TASS/. The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has declared as undesirable the activities of the French non-governmental organization Open Press in Russia.

"Based on the examination of received materials, a decision was made to recognize the activities of the foreign non-profit non-governmental organization Open Press (of the French Republic) as undesirable on the territory Russia," the Prosecutor General's Office said in a news release. "It has been found that its activities pose a threat to the constitutional system and security of Russia."

The decision was dispatched to the Ministry of Justice, which is now to put Open Press on the list of organizations recognized as undesirable in Russia.

Earlier, the Prosecutor General's Office declared the activities of the US NGO Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars undesirable, too.
