Russian ministry designates TV Rain’s new iteration as foreign agent

The television channel had been already designated as a foreign agent in 2021

MOSCOW, December 2. /TASS/. The Russian Justice Ministry has designated TV Rain as a foreign agent again after the television channel registered as a new entity.

"The other group of persons that conducts business under the name TV Rain is a public platform for foreign agents and representatives of organizations that are on the list of foreign and international nongovernmental organizations, whose activity was deemed as undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation," the ministry said on its website.

The television channel had been already designated as a foreign agent in 2021. It has since then registered as another legal entity, which was now designated again.

Other additions to the ministry’s list of foreign agents included Anastasia Burakova, the founder of the group called Kovcheg that helps Russians, and the group itself. Another new name of the list is Igor Eidman, a social scientist.
