Militants in Syria’s Idlib zone stealing humanitarian aid — Russian reconciliation center

The Russian health ministry’s mobile hospital continues to operate in Syria to provide medical services to quake-affected people

MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. Illegal armed groups in the Idlib de-escalation zone are plundering humanitarian aid from Turkey, Oleg Gurinov, deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria (a division of the Russian defense ministry), said on Monday.

"According to reports coming to the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties from residents of neighborhoods in the Idlib de-escalation zone, humanitarian aid from Turkey is being stolen by members of radical armed groups," he said.

According to Gurinov, the Reconciliation Center and the Russian task force continue to deliver assistance to people affected by the devastating earthquake. "A humanitarian operation is being conducted in the settlement of Maaret al-Nuuaman in the Idlib governorate. As many as 182 humanitarian and seven charity operations have been conducted since February 7," he noted.

Apart from that, the Russian health ministry’s mobile hospital continues to operate in Syria to provide medical services to quake-affected people. A total of 266 people received medical assistance during the past day and 5,384 - during the period of the hospital’s operation.
