MOSCOW, November 20. /TASS/. The radiation situation at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant is normal after it was shelled by Ukrainian troops, the damage will be specified after experts from the IAEA and Rosatom inspect the plant, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Sunday.
According to his data, the Ukrainian armed forces shelled the Zaporozhye NPP twice on Sunday morning. A total of 14 shells were fired at the plant, two of them hitting a power line to the power plant.
"The shelling came from the area of the village of Marganets in the Dnepropetrovsk region, controlled by the Ukrainian armed forces. The retaliatory fire of Russian artillery units suppressed the enemy's fire weapons. The radiation situation in the area of the nuclear power plant remains normal. The damage caused by artillery shelling from the Ukrainian armed forces will be specified after experts from the IAEA and Rosatom inspect the territory of the plant," Konashenkov said.
