Russia reports 27,100 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours - crisis center

The growth rate dropped from 1.3% to 1.2%

MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/. Russia’s coronavirus cases grew by 27,100 in the past 24 hours reaching 2,242,633, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Saturday.

According to the crisis center, the growth rate dropped from 1.3% to 1.2%.

The lowest daily growth rates were recorded in the Nenets autonomous region (0.3%), Dagestan, the Khanty-Mansi autonomous region (0.6% each), the Karachay-Cherkess region, Kabardino-Balkaria and the Mari El republic (0.7% each).

In particular, another 3,695 cases were confirmed in St. Petersburg, 1,065 in the Moscow Region, 464 in the Nizhny Novgorod Region , 399 in Karelia and 390 in the Sverdlovsk Region.

At present, 464,095 people in Russia continue treatment.

Russia’s coronavirus deaths grew by 510 in the past 24 hours compared to 496 fatalities reported a day earlier reaching 39,068.

The number of recorded deaths exceeded 500 for the third time this week. The conditional mortality rate remained at 1.74%, as follows from the data provided by the crisis center.

In particular, 76 fatalities were reported in Moscow, 70 in St. Petersburg, 23 in the Rostov Region. The Moscow Region and the Krasnoyarsk Region reported 21 deaths each, while the Nizhny Novgorod and Irkutsk Regions confirmed 15 and 14 fatalities respectively.

Russia’s coronavirus recoveries grew by 27,296 in the past 24 hours, this is the highest number since the start of the pandemic. A total of 1,739,470 patients have recovered by now.

Recoveries exceeded the number of new cases. According to the crisis center, the proportion of recoveries grew from 77.3% to 77.6% of the total number of infected individuals.

Another 1,991 patients recovered in St. Petersburg, 640 in the Moscow Region, 598 in the Arkhangelsk Region, 592 in the Penza Region, 448 in the Khabarovsk Region and 433 in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
