LUGANSK, February 25. /TASS/. Russian forces have destroyed enemy pockets of resistance in Belogorovka, driving Ukrainian troops out of the second to last occupied settlement in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), military expert Andrey Marochko told TASS.
"The enemy has been driven out of the second to last occupied LPR settlement. The Russian Armed Forces carried out effective operations, destroying enemy pockets of resistance in the settlement of Belogorovka. Our forces entered the settlement and continued to advance westward," he said.
According to Marochko, after losing Belogorovka, the enemy moved its remaining forces to the Grigorovka area and reinforced the second line of defense southwest of Belogorovka.
Marochko told TASS on February 22 that the Ukrainian army remained in control of about 0.5% of the LPR territory. Now that Russian forces have taken Belogorovka, the only LPR settlement that Ukraine controls is Petrovskoye in the Svatovsky Municipal District.
