Russian president’s address reiterates goals, tasks of special op — political scientist

According to Pavel Danilin, Russia feels confident thanks to the forces and means that have been prepared since the 2000s

MOSCOW, February 29. /TASS/. In his state of the nation address to the Federal Assembly, not only did President Vladimir Putin confirm the goals and objectives of the special military operation, but also made them clearer and more substantial, Pavel Danilin, a political scientist and director of the Center for Political Analysis, opined in an interview with TASS.

"None of the priorities or plans announced by the head of state in February 2022 have changed. Moreover, the goals and objectives have only become clearer and more meaningful - the confrontation with neocolonialism, globalism and the global West is ongoing," Danilin said,

According to the political scientist, Russia feels confident thanks to the forces and means that have been prepared since the 2000s.

"The troops that are conducting the special military operation are equipped with the best weapons, with new missiles. <…> And this reality helps us feel confident enough in all the areas," he said.

Danilin pointed out that soldiers of the special military operation are now "a guarantee that Russia will remain sovereign."

"In his address, the president thanked all those who are doing their duty on the frontline and, finally, made it clear that the implementation of all those goals and plans he was talking about does depends on them - on privates, officers and commanders," Danilin said.

In his state of the nation address, the president outlined a plan for Russia’s growth in the next six years. His speech lasted more than two hours.
