US policy on Ukraine failed, no counter-offensive in sight – Russian ambassador

The Americans are increasing the supply of weapons, and the Russian armed forces are doing a great job of burning and destroying all these weapons, Anatoly Antonov emphasized

MOSCOW, November 2. /TASS/. The US policy on Ukraine has failed, as no Ukrainian counter-offensive is taking place at this point, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov told Russia’s Channel One on Thursday.

"It appears that the US policy on Ukraine has failed. There has been no counter-offensive. The present-day situation is as follows: the Americans continued to boost their arms deliveries, but our armed forces can burn down or destroy all this weaponry perfectly well," the diplomat said.

In his words, US actions are leading to "Ukrainian deaths in large numbers," but neither the White House nor the office of the Ukrainian president "are interested in the fate of ordinary people."

"Even the mainstream Western media shows footage of poor Ukrainians being rounded up in bathhouses, shops, or simply in the streets and thrown on to the frontline. And, sadly, they are getting killed," the ambassador added.
