Russian envoy in Vienna says Europe lost Russia as energy supplier

Birol earlier said Russian oil production would slump by 2 million barrels per day by the end of the first quarter of 2023

VIENNA, November 29. /TASS/. Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, on Tuesday said Europe lost Russia as an energy supplier, in a statement that he made in response to Fatih Birol, the executive director of the International Energy Agency, who earlier said Russia lost Europe as an energy buyer.

"Europe has lost Russia as its largest energy supplier to get the opportunity to buy the US LNG at a much higher price? Great achievement!" the Russian diplomat said on Twitter.

Birol earlier said Russian oil production would slump by 2 million barrels per day by the end of the first quarter of 2023. He also said Europe will need to replace those supplies. Birol also told Reuters that Russia forever lost Europe as its energy buyer.
