LUGANSK, November 18. /TASS/. The intelligence of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) has information that courts-martial have begun to operate in the Ukrainian army, LPR people’s militia officer Andrey Marochko said on Friday.
"Due to regular failures to fulfil combat assignments, mass desertion and servicemen’s refusal to fulfil orders, the Ukrainian higher military command has handed down instructions ‘On Tightening Disciplinary Measures on Personnel," the officer wrote on his Telegram channel.
"Joint groups consisting of the staff of the Ukrainian Security Service, the Interior Ministry and the Military Prosecutors’ Office vested with emergency powers, even going as far as issuing a verdict and executing it without any bureaucratic formalities, have been sent to the zone of active combat operations, he said.
As Marochko specified, "this sort of court-martial is accompanied by men in black uniforms who perform the functions of security guards and executors of capital punishment."
Ukrainian officers have been allowed to use all available disciplinary measures on subordinate personnel to carry out assigned tasks, the LPR people’s militia officer said.
