Two people detained in Berdyansk planned assassination of city authorities — politician

Vladimir Rogov noted that firearms, ammunition and explosives were seized from the detainees

MELITOPOL, November 9. /TASS/. The two people detained in Berdyansk, who wanted to destroy a transformer substation, were also preparing an assassination attempt against the city authorities, says Vladimir Rogov, head of the "We are Together with Russia" movement.

"They were taken hot in an apartment. They are confessing right now. They were supposed to blow up a substation and carry out an assassination attempt on the city authorities," he said.

Rogov noted that firearms, ammunition and explosives were seized from the detainees.

Earlier on Wednesday, a Russian intelligence representative said that intelligence agencies have prevented a terror attack in Berdyansk, adding that the perpetrators were aiming to destroy a power substation. He specified that the two are members of the "Azov" and "Right Sector" groups (both outlawed in Russia). According to the representative, they were promised $1,000 each for a successful mission.
