Russian security forces foil terror attack in Berdyansk

It is specified that the Russian security forces detained two members of the Ukrainian Neo-Nazi Azov formation and the Right Sector extremist group (both are outlawed in Russia)

MELITOPOL, November 9. /TASS/. Russian security forces prevented a terror attack in Berdyansk targeting an electrical substation, a security official said on Wednesday.

"Operatives detained and questioned nationalists who plotted to destroy a transformer substation, which supplies electricity to most of Berdyansk and local hospitals," the security official said.

The Russian security forces detained two members of the Ukrainian Neo-Nazi Azov formation and the Right Sector extremist group (both are outlawed in Russia), he specified.

"They both knew the city well as both of them grew up in Berdyansk," he added.

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Department set them the task of blowing up the transformer substation and promised to pay them $1,000 each for the successful operation, the Russian security official said.
