Large arms cache found in private home in Zaporozhye Region

The owner of the house, a former police officer, is currently out of town, serving in Ukraine’s National Guard

MELITOPOL, November 2. /TASS/. Law enforcement officers in the Zaporozhye Region have seized a large cache of weapons in the home of a former Ukrainian policeman, the Zaporozhye Region’s police department told TASS on Wednesday.

"As a result of detective work local police operatives obtained evidence that a large amount of weapons and ammunition is hidden in one of the local households. The owner of the house, a former police officer, is currently out of town, serving in Ukraine’s National Guard. The man’s home in Tokmak was searched and a large amount of weapons and ammunition and also false IDs and counterfeit money were seized."

Police operatives confiscated two RGO hand grenades, a grenade for an underbarrel grenade launcher, and a smoke bomb.

"The weapons and other related items have been confiscated. An investigation is underway," the press service concluded.
