GROZNY, April 22. /TASS/. Commanders of Ukrainian nationalist battalions do not allow militants, blocked inside Mariupol’s Azovstal steel factory, to lay down their weapons and surrender, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov said in his Telegram channel.
Details about criminal acts committed by nationalist battalions were unveiled during questioning of a captive.
"According to the captive, the majority of those locked behind thick walls of the plant are eager to leave the territory, holding a white flag. This initiative, however, is not supported by current commanders of nationalist battalions. Moreover, we have confirmed information about execution of their own members who wanted to lay down weapons," Kadyrov wrote.
He also said that members of nationalist battalions have been disinformed about Russia’s security guarantees to prisoners of war.
