No lockdown due to COVID-19 planned in Russia, Putin says

There are no plans for a lockdown when the business operation is actually halted completely, the president said

NOVO-OGAREVO, October 29. /TASS/. No plans are in place to introduce overwhelming restrictions in Russia due to the coronavirus pandemic, President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday.

"We do not plan to introduce restrictive measures across the board, launch the so-called ‘nation-wide lockdown," when the economy, the business operation is actually halted completely," the head of state said.

"Despite the challenging epidemiological situation, we are much better prepared now to work in the epidemic environment," Putin noted. "The situation is indeed better; this pertains to the experience in mobilizing the healthcare system and taking required prophylaxis measures. We clearly understand how we should act," the president added.
