Civilian casualties reported in Ukrainian saboteurs’ attack in Bryansk Region

There are both killed and wounded people among local residents and up to six people may be held hostage, the defense circles said

MOSCOW, March 2. /TASS/. Russian Guardsmen are fighting Ukrainian saboteurs who have infiltrated into the border area of the Bryansk Region, defense circles told TASS on Thursday.

"Groups of Ukrainian saboteurs have penetrated into two villages, taking local residents hostage in one of them. Russian National Guard fighters have entered into a gunfight with the militants," the defense circles said.

There are both killed and wounded people among local residents and up to six people may be held hostage, the defense circles said.

Bryansk Region Governor Alexander Bogomaz said on his Telegram channel earlier on Thursday that Ukrainian saboteurs opened fire at a moving car in the Klimovsky district of the Bryansk Region, killing a local resident and wounding a child.

The region’s Klimovsky district was attacked by a Ukrainian drone and the village of Lomakovka in the Starodubsky municipality was subjected to the Ukrainian army’s mortar shelling, the governor said.
