As of 9:39 a.m. Moscow time (6:39 a.m. GMT) the gold price was up by 1.25% at $4,753.2 per troy ounce.

By 9:44 a.m. Moscow time (6:44 a.m. GMT), the price of gold had extended gains to 1.38% as it traded at $4,759 per troy ounce.
