Belarusian industrial exports to Russia rises 1.5-fold over 2 months

Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Piotr Parkhomchik said that Belarusian industrial products are also in demand in Asia and Africa

MINSK, April 4. /TASS/. The growth rate of Belarusian exports of industrial goods and technologies to Russia grew 1.5-fold in the first two months of 2023, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Pyotr Parkhomchik said on Tuesday.

"The growth rate of exports to Russia rose 1.5-fold in January-February compared to the same period last year. That is, there is a systemic demand for our products. This includes agricultural engineering, transportation, machine tools, equipment, and technologies," he told Belarus Today.

Belarusian industrial goods, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, are also in high demand in Asian and African countries. "It's unfortunate for Europe, which has refused our products and refused to collaborate with us. For a long time, we had normal cooperation. All of these connections have now been severed. But there will be no major problems for Belarus's industry as a result of this," Parkhomchik believes.

"We continue to increase production volumes, there is good dynamics for this year," he added.

At the end of February, Parkhomchik announced that in 2022 the enterprises of the Ministry of Industry of Belarus increased exports to Russia by 50%.
