Cargo traffic in Russian Arctic may exceed target in 2024 — official

This is due to several factors, including a change in the focus of Russian energy exports from Western states to the Asia-Pacific, Dmitry Medvedev added

MOSCOW, November 18. /TASS/. Cargo traffic in Russian Arctic latitudes could surpass target estimates in 2024 according to the expectations of shippers, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said this Friday.

"The structure of cargo traffic along the Northern Sea Route has also changed in connection with the latest developments. Shippers forecast cargo traffic in Arctic latitudes to grow in 2024, as compared to preliminary projections. It is assumed in general that it will grow," Medvedev said.

This is due to several factors, including a change in the focus of Russian energy exports from Western states to the Asia-Pacific, he added.
