Airshow China brings together companies from 43 countries around the world

Russia traditionally participates in Airshow China exhibitions

SHANGHAI, November 8. /TASS/. Over 740 companies from 43 countries and regions of the world will demonstrate their output at the 14th Airshow China that has opened in the city of Zhuhai in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong.

China’s central television showed video footage of the official ceremony of opening the Airshow China with fighter jets performing demonstration flights. The Airshow China 2022 will run on November 8-13.

This year, the airshow will feature a total of around 100 aircraft and other aviation equipment. The United States, France, Germany, Italy, Saudi Arabia and Russia will take part in the exhibition.

The local media and expert community have revealed China’s military hardware that will be demonstrated at the airshow for the first time. In particular, China will show both the domestic military aircraft industry’s achievements and armaments and equipment for the land troops and the navy, the local Global Times newspaper reported.

Specifically, China will for the first time demonstrate the YU-20 aerial tanker and the J-20 fifth-generation fighter jet in the sky and on the ground along with the Wing Loong 3 strike drone from China’s Aviation Industry Corporation (AVIC). China’s innovations at the airshow will also include the KJ-500A airborne early warning and control aircraft, the paper said.

Russia’s participation in airshow

Russia traditionally participates in Airshow China exhibitions. This year, Russia’s state arms seller Rosoboronexport will feature the state-of-the-art S-400 Triumf and S-350E Vityaz air defense systems, modern aircraft and helicopters and aerial weapons at the Airshow China 2022, the company’s press office said.

At its stand at the Airshow China 2022, Rosoboronexport will also showcase a full range of Russian military aircraft, including the Su-57E fifth-generation fighter, the Su-35 multirole super-maneuverable fighter, the Su-34E fighter-bomber and the MiG-35 multirole fighter in single- and dual-pilot configurations, it said.

Visitors to the Airshow China 2022 will see the IL-78MK-90A tanker aircraft and the IL-76MD-90A(E) military transport plane. Rosoboronexport will also demonstrate the BTR-MDM multi-purpose airborne armored personnel carrier and the BMD-4M airborne infantry fighting vehicle, the press office said.
