MOSCOW, October 21. /TASS/. Russia and other member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will begin the deliveries of weapons to Tajikistan to strengthen the border with Afghanistan by the end of this year, CSTO Secretary General Taalatbek Masadykov said.
"I believe that the first deliveries from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation and Belarus to Tajikistan will already begin in the fall of this year and before the end of this year. This relates to equipping the Tajik-Afghan border and this relates not only to equipment but also to armaments," the organization’s chief said.
The program of strengthening the border does not threaten Afghanistan, he stressed.
