Shoigu sees maintaining nuclear forces in permanent readiness as important goal

The Russian defense minister also mentioned the construction of multi-purpose ships with high-precision missile systems to hit critical infrastructure and maritime targets

MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has said it’s important to maintain all components of the strategic nuclear forces in permanent readiness.

"Maintaining all components of the strategic nuclear forces in permanent readiness continues to be an important task," the minister said at a meeting of top ministry officials.

Another important goal, he said, is construction of multi-purpose ships with high-precision missile systems to hit critical infrastructure and maritime targets, including carrier strike groups and ship strike groups.
