Kalashnikov keeps building rifle plant in Venezuela

"Construction and assembly work is ongoing according to agreed schedules at the enterprise for licensed production of Kalashnikov rifles in Venezuela. The parties have mutual technical and organizational obligations," Dmitry Shugayev said

DUBAI, November 14. /TASS/. The Kalashnikov Company keeps building the enterprise in Venezuela to produce its assault rifles, Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Dmitry Shugayev told TASS at Dubai Airshow.

"Construction and assembly work is ongoing according to agreed schedules at the enterprise for licensed production of Kalashnikov rifles in Venezuela. The parties have mutual technical and organizational obligations," he said adding the parties will take maximum effort to launch the facility on time.

The Kalashnikov said in May 2022 it had encountered problems with the construction and would not launch the enterprise in 2022. However, its President Alan Lushnikov said the company is set to complete the construction, but did not give any new deadlines.
