US reaffirms desire to extend conflict by giving more aid to Ukraine — Russian embassy

WASHINGTON, April 4. /TASS/. The administration in Washington, by providing more military assistance to Ukraine, reaffirms its hypocritical position and the determination to extend the conflict, the Russian embassy in the US said in a statement published on Tuesday.

"Washington once again confirmed its hypocritical position. The Americans intend to drag out the conflict in Ukraine for as long as possible. The decision to supply weapons to Kiev is a step towards the escalation of the Ukrainian crisis and an increase in the number of civilian casualties," the diplomatic mission said in comments on Washington's provision of another package of military assistance to Kiev, which is worth $2.6 billion.

"The United States is not interested in the fate of the people of the post-Soviet republic. Washington, in fact, is driving Ukrainians to slaughter without thinking about human lives. The true purpose of such a line is to turn Ukraine into a permanent source of threats to Russia's security," the statement said.

It warned that all Western military-purpose products "will be destroyed on the battlefield."

The Pentagon said on Tuesday that the US provided Ukraine with another package of military assistance valued at $2.6 billion. The package includes munitions for the Patriot air defense system and HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, 155mm and 105mm artillery rounds, munitions for tanks, mortars, about 400 grenade launchers and about 200,000 munitions for them.
