MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Russia’s battlegroup "West" eliminated five Ukrainian reconnaissance groups on Kupyansk direction in 24 hours, battlegroup spokesman Sergey Zybinsky told TASS.

"Servicemen of battlegroup ‘West’ exposed and eliminated five enemy reconnaissance and sabotage groups from 14th and 92th mechanized brigades and the 103rd territorial defense brigade," he said.

According to the spokesman, fire from Giatsint artillery thwarted rotation of Ukrainian forces at forward positions near the settlement of Dvurechnoye.

A reconnaissance team discovered an enemy mortar squad near the settlement of Gatische. A Grad multiple launch rocket system strike eliminated one mortar. An Uragan rocket system eliminated a Ukrainian D-20 howitzer at a distance of 25 kilometers.
