DONETSK, January 16. /TASS/. Ukrainian troops have fled Soledar in panic, leaving behind a large amount of weapons and munitions, including NATO armaments, the press office of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) people’s militia reported on Monday.

"The corpses of Ukrainian militants, and damaged and destroyed hardware are seen littered practically all across the locality, along with equipment, weapons and munitions, including those of NATO manufacture. All of this was ditched by Neo-Nazis who fled Soledar in panic," the press office said.

The video posted by the DPR people’s militia on its Telegram channel shows footage of crippled infrastructure in Soledar, abandoned munitions and mangled military equipment.

Russia’s Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Friday that Russian troops had completed the liberation of the salt mining town of Soledar from the Ukrainian military on the evening of January 12 during the special military operation in Ukraine.

Full control over Soledar enables Russia’s troops to cut off the Ukrainian army’s supply routes in Artyomovsk (called Bakhmut in Ukraine) located southwest of the salt mining town and subsequently seal off and entrap the Ukrainian military entrenched there, the general explained.
