Shelling of Novaya Kakhovka still goes on after starting at night — officials

The administration also said that two people were killed and six were injured while tens of people were shelshocked in the city in the shelling by Ukrainian forces on Thursday

GENICHESK, November 18. /TASS/. The shelling of the Novaya Kakhovka city in the Kherson Region by Ukrainian forces still goes on after starting at night, the city’s administration said on Friday.

"The shelling of Novaya Kakhovka on Friday, November 18, started at night and are going on the entire day. The targets are the homes of civilians and infrastructure facilities," officials said on Telegram.

The local government said the administration, the task force, the emergency situations staff, the police, doctors and emergency services continue to operate in Novaya Kakhovka, despite the shelling.

The administration also said that two people were killed and six were injured while tens of people were shelshocked in the city in the shelling by Ukrainian forces on Thursday.

"As a result of multiple instances of artillery shelling on Thursday, two civilians were killed and six were wounded. Tens of residents of the city were shellshocked. Seven homes were ruined. Power lines were damaged. Some parts of the city are without lights," the administration stated.

On Thursday, the administration reported that two members of a maintenance crew that worked to restore power supply in the area sustained wounds in a mortar shelling. The wound of one of them was serious.
