MOSCOW, November 17. /TASS/. Russian air defense forces destroyed 11 HIMARS, two Uragan and two Olkha rockets in the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Thursday.
"A total of 15 rockets were intercepted, including 11 munitions of the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system in the areas of the communities of Guselskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Zimogorye in the Lugansk People’s Republic and Skadovsk in the Kherson Region," the spokesman said.
"In addition, they shot down two Uragan rockets in the area of the settlement of Strelechya in the Kharkov Region and two Olkha rockets in the areas of the communities of Rubezhnoye and Makeyevka in the Lugansk People’s Republic," the general added.
In the past 24 hours, Russian air defense capabilities shot down six Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the settlements of Yegorovka and Novoukrainka in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Chervonopopovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic, he said.
Russian forces delivered preemptive fire, thwarting a Ukrainian army attack in the Lugansk People’s Republic in the Kupyansk direction and eliminating 20 militants, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Kupyansk direction, an enemy attempt to attack the Russian troop positions in the area of the settlement of Novosyolovskoye in the Lugansk People’s Republic was thwarted by preemptive fire against the amassed Ukrainian troops," the spokesman said.
Russian forces eliminated as many as 20 Ukrainian personnel and two armored vehicles, the general specified.
The Ukrainian military suffered about 100 casualties in its attempts to attack in the Krasny Liman area in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Krasny Liman direction, Russian artillery fire, strikes by army aviation aircraft and heavy flamethrower systems thwarted the attempts by five Ukrainian company tactical groups to advance towards the settlements of Kolomyichikha, Makeyevka, Ploshchanka, Chervonopopovka and Chervonaya Dibrova in the Lugansk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.
The Ukrainian military lost as many as 100 servicemen killed and wounded, one tank, three infantry fighting vehicles, two armored vehicles and three pickup trucks, the general specified.
Russian forces gained control of the road between the settlements of Pavlovka and Nikolskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"In the southern Donetsk area, the road between the communities of Pavlovka and Nikolskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic was placed under full control," the spokesman said.
Russian forces also thwarted by their active operations three attacks by the Ukrainian military, which attempted to advance by three company tactical groups from the areas of the settlements of Prechistovka, Ugledar and Novomikhailovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, the general said.
During the combat, Russian troops destroyed over 60 Ukrainian personnel, two tanks and six combat armored vehicles, he specified.
Russian forces destroyed the Iskra plant’s workshops in the city of Zaporozhye engaged in the production of components for the repair of Ukrainian army radars, Konashenkov reported.

The Russian Aerospace Forces obliterated the workshops of the defense enterprise for the production of propellant and rocket engines for the Ukrainian army in the Dnepropetrovsk Region, Konashenkov reported.
"Precision missile strikes by Russia’s Aerospace Forces obliterated the workshops of the defense enterprise for the production of propellant and rocket engines for the Ukrainian military in the city of Pavlograd in the Dnepropetrovsk Region," the spokesman said.
Russian combat aircraft, missile and artillery troops wiped out a command post and a communications hub of the Ukrainian military in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"Operational-tactical and army aviation aircraft, missile troops and artillery wiped out the following targets in the past 24 hours: a Ukrainian army command post in the area of the settlement of Naddnepryanskoye and a communications hub near the community of Chernobayevka in the Kherson Region, and also 74 artillery units at firing positions, manpower and military hardware in 166 areas," the spokesman said.
Russian troops destroyed two Ukrainian Uragan multiple rocket launchers in counter-battery fire in the Kharkov Region in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"In the counter-battery warfare, two Ukrainian Uragan multiple rocket launchers were destroyed in the area of the settlement of Zhovtnevoye in the Kharkov Region," the spokesman said.
Russian troops obliterated two US-made AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radars of the Ukrainian army in the Donetsk People’s Republic in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"In the areas of the settlements of Maryinka and Razdolovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, two AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radars of US manufacture were obliterated," the spokesman said.
In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 333 Ukrainian warplanes, 177 helicopters, 2,520 unmanned aerial vehicles, 388 surface-to-air missile systems, 6,668 tanks and other combat armored vehicles, 894 multiple rocket launchers, 3,589 field artillery guns and mortars and 7,259 special military motor vehicles since the beginning of their special military operation in Ukraine, Konashenkov reported.
