Russian air defense forces intercept eight Ukrainian HIMARS, Olkha rockets — top brass

In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 331 Ukrainian military aircraft, 169 helicopters, 2,452 unmanned aerial vehicles, 386 surface-to-air missile systems

MOSCOW, November 6. /TASS/. Russian air defense forces intercepted eight Ukrainian HIMARS and Olkha rockets, one HARM anti-radar missile, as well as shot down one Tochka-U ballistic missile, in the past day, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Sunday.

"Eight rockets were intercepted in the air, including six rockets of the US multiple launch rocket system HIMARS near the settlement of Antonovka of the Kherson Region and the city of Donetsk, two Olkha rockets in the Antonovka settlement of the Kherson Region and one US anti-radar missile HARM in the settlement of Novaya Kakhovka of the Kherson Region," the spokesman said, adding that one Ukrainian ballistic missile Tochka-U was also shot down near the settlement of Kuzemovka of the Lugansk People’s Republic.

As the general specified, air defense capabilities shot down 16 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the area of the settlements of Plodovoye, Vishnevoye, Lvovo, Pershotravnevoye, Bruskinskoye, Novaya Kakhovka of the Kherson Region, Snigirevka of the Nikolayev Region, Nikolskoye, Volnovakha, Lyubovka, and Novoandreyevka of the Donetsk People’s Republic in 24 hours.

In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 331 Ukrainian military aircraft, 169 helicopters, 2,452 unmanned aerial vehicles, 386 surface-to-air missile systems, 6,398 tanks and other combat armored vehicles, 883 multiple rocket launchers, 3,560 field artillery guns and mortars, and 7,086 special military motor vehicles since the beginning of their special military operation in Ukraine, Konashenkov added.
