MOSCOW, November 6. /TASS/. The Ukrainian armed forces have attempted to attack the positions of the Russian troops in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) and the Kharkov Region, as a result of which Russian forces eliminated 200 Ukrainian militants, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov told reporters on Sunday.

"In the Kupyansk direction, a battalion tactical group of the Ukrainian military forces fortified by a group of nationalists attempted to attack the positions of Russian troops at a narrow section of the front in the direction of the Novoselovskoye settlement of the Lugansk People’s Republic," he said, adding that the Russian army managed to stop the divisions of the enemy. "Moreover, the enemy made an attempt to attack Russian positions in the area of the Kotlayrovka settlement in the Kharkov Region, which was foiled," Konashenkov noted.
