MOSCOW, November 3. /TASS/. Russian air defense forces shot down eight Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles and destroyed 13 HIMARS, Olkha and Uragan rockets in the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Thursday.
"In the past 24 hours, air defense capabilities shot down eight Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the settlements of Burgunka, Bobrovy Kut and Olgovka in the Kherson Region, Yepifanovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Novaya Tarasovka in the Kharkov Region, Aleksandrovka, Nikolskoye and Pavlovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.
Russian air defense systems also shot down 13 rockets of HIMARS, Olkha and Uragan multiple launch rocket systems in the areas of the communities of Antonovka and Novaya Kakhovka in the Kherson Region, Gruzsko-Lomovka and Svobodnoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic, the general added.
Russian troops are advancing in the southern Donetsk area and have halted the Ukrainian army’s attempt to counter-attack, Konashenkov reported.
"In the southern Donetsk direction, the Ukrainian military made attempts to counter-attack in the areas of the settlements of Nikolskoye and Rovnopol in the Donetsk People’s Republic to stop the advance of Russian troops. The enemy’s counter-attacking units were halted by the fire of Russian artillery and the strikes of assault and army aviation aircraft and dispersed in the areas of the communities of Vodyanoye and Novosyolka," the spokesman said.
Russian troops eliminated about 80 Ukrainian militants, three infantry fighting vehicles and two motor vehicles, the general specified.
Russian forces repelled five attacks by Ukrainian motorized infantry companies and pushed the enemy back to initial positions in the Nikolayev-Krivoi Rog area, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Nikolayev-Krivoi Rog direction, Russian troops repelled five attacks by Ukrainian motorized infantry companies in the areas of the communities of Mylovoye, Sukhanovo, Bruskinskoye and Ishchenka in the Kherson Region. As a result of damage inflicted by firepower and decisive actions of Russian troops, the enemy was pushed back to initial positions," the spokesman said.
The enemy’s losses amounted to over 80 personnel killed and wounded, six combat armored vehicles and seven motor vehicles of various designation, the general specified.
Russian forces repelled the Ukrainian army’s attacks carried out by two companies of mercenaries in the Kupyansk area, eliminating over 130 militants and two Humvee armored vehicles, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Kupyansk direction, the Ukrainian military made attempts to attack the Russian positions by two companies of foreign mercenaries in the area of the settlement of Novosyolovskoye in the Lugansk People’s Republic. All the attacks were repelled," the spokesman said.
Russian troops inflicted damage on the enemy by firepower, the general said.
"In the past day, over 130 militants and Ukrainian servicemen, three tanks, two combat armored vehicles and two Humvee armored vehicles were destroyed in the Kupyansk direction," Konashenkov reported.
The Ukrainian military lost over 200 servicemen killed and 120 others wounded in its unsuccessful attempts to advance in the Krasny Liman area in the past day, the spokesman said.
"In the Krasny Liman direction, the Ukrainian military made unsuccessful attempts to advance by three reinforced battalions towards the settlements of Makeyevka, Ploshchanka and Chervonopopovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic. The enemy was pushed back to initial positions as a result of active operations of Russian troops and artillery," the spokesman said.
Russian troops also inflicted damage on advancing Ukrainian army reserves in the areas of the settlements of Terny and Kirovsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The enemy lost over 200 servicemen killed and more than 120 others wounded, and also four tanks, nine armored combat vehicles and eight motor vehicles, the general specified.
Russian forces destroyed a Ukrainian platoon of Grad multiple launch rocket systems in the Kharkov Region and an artillery battery in the Donetsk People’s Republic in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"In counter-battery warfare, the following targets were destroyed: a Ukrainian platoon of Grad multiple launch rocket systems in the area of the settlement of Volchansk in the Kharkov Region and also an artillery battery of the Ukrainian army near the community of Novosyolka in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.
Combat aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down a Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"Operational-tactical aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down a Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force in the area of the settlement of Kostyrka in the Kherson Region," the spokesman said.
Russian combat aircraft, missile and artillery troops obliterated the command posts of two Ukrainian army brigades in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"Operational-tactical and army aviation aircraft, missile and artillery troops destroyed the command posts of the Ukrainian army’s 128th mountain assault brigade and 115th territorial defense brigade in the areas of Mirolyubovka in the Kherson Region and Zvanovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.
Russian forces also struck 96 Ukrainian artillery units at firing positions, manpower and military equipment in 158 areas, Konashenkov reported.
Russian troops obliterated a US-made AN/TPQ-37 counter-battery radar in the Donetsk People’s Republic and a radar station of an S-300 anti-aircraft missile system in the Nikolayev Region, Konashenkov reported.
"In the area of the settlement of Dzerzhinsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic, a US-made AN/TPQ-37 counter-battery radar was obliterated. In the area of the community of Visunsk in the Nikolayev Region, a radar station of a Ukrainian S-300 anti-aircraft missile system was destroyed," the spokesman said.
In addition, Russian troops wiped out a Ukrainian army ammunition depot in the area of the settlement of Novaya Kamenka in the Kherson Region, the general added.
In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 330 Ukrainian combat aircraft, 168 helicopters, 2,422 unmanned aerial vehicles, 384 surface-to-air missile systems, 6,297 tanks and other combat armored vehicles, 882 multiple rocket launchers, 3,547 field artillery guns and mortars and 6,986 special military motor vehicles since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine, Konashenkov reported.
