VORONEZH, April 27. The air defense system spotted and destroyed a small surveillance drone above Voronezh on Wednesday morning, the locals face no danger, the region’s governor Alexander Gusev reported on his Telegram channel.

"This morning, the air defense system spotted and destroyed a small surveillance drone near Voronezh. The situation is under my personal control. The region’s residents are in no danger," Gusev wrote.

Two loud bangs were heard in the Shilovo neighborhood of the Central Russian city earlier on Wednesday morning, a district civil defense and emergency official told TASS previously. A civil defense and emergency response team, a team of the Russian Emergencies Ministry and an Investigative Committee official were about to arrive.

The Shilovo neighborhood is located near the Baltimor military airfield and about 300 km away from the Ukrainian border.
