Russian troops destroy positions of Ukrainian nationalists at school in Kherson region

The positions were established in the brick building of a local high school located in the vicinity of residential properties

MOSCOW, April 23. /TASS/. Russian troops destroyed the fortified positions of Ukrainian nationalist fighters at a school in a recently liberated settlement in the Kherson region, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

"Russian troops discovered and destroyed the fortified positions of Ukrainian nationalist units in a recently liberated settlement in the Kherson region. The positions were established in the brick building of a local high school located in the vicinity of residential properties," the statement reads.

According to the Defense Ministry, militants left ruined military equipment in the school’s yard. "Russian military engineers explored dozens of hand grenades and other explosive devices filled with screws and nails, which were then taken away and destroyed," the statement added.

Nationalists also left behind ammunition and weapons, including a mortar, a grenade launcher, man-portable air defense systems and NLAW anti-tank systems.

"Russian troops seized the ammunition and weapons to hand them over the people’s militias of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
