TALLINN, October 1 (Itar-Tass) - About 1,400 litres of diesel fuel have spilled into Lake Chudskoe (known as Lake Peipus in Estonia) from a survey vessel of the Estonian water transport department. The fuel has polluted an area of 900 square metres, the rescue department reported on Tuesday.

The incident took place five kilomtres off the coastline. Slick bars have been placed to contain the one-kilometre spill from reaching the coast.
