KIEV, July 5 /TASS/. About 20 deputies of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada (parliament) from the Batkivshchina (Fatherland) and Radical Party blocked the rostrum and the presidium during parliamentary debates on Tuesday demanding investigation into the offshore scandals involving Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko. About 15 deputies blocked the presidium; another five surrounded the rostrum.
People’s Deputy Nadezhda Savchenko took the speaker’s seat, the UNN news agency reported.
The deputies also blocked one of the entrances to the presidium.
In the end, Rada Speaker Andrei Parubiy opened and immediately closed the Ukrainian parliament’s evening session. He said political consultations were necessary before the Rada could resume its work.
