Almost 180 criminal cases on election law violations opened in Ukraine

Seventy one cases out of them are linked to bribery of voters, adviser to the Ukrainian interior minister Anton Gerashchenko said

KIEV, October 21. /TASS/. At least 178 criminal cases have been opened on election law violations in Ukraine, adviser to the Ukrainian interior minister Anton Gerashchenko said on Tuesday.

Seventy one cases out of them are linked to bribery of voters, Gerashchenko added. He cited the data ahead of the early parliamentary elections in Ukraine scheduled for October 26.

“Charges have not been brought against anyone because the investigation is underway. But our task is firm — to push the matter through on every case and take cases to court for establishing the guilt,” Gerashchenko said.

Earlier, Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov wrote on Facebook that the number of such violations in the country “is growing like a snowball.”
